Blog Updates

Yes, it has been over a month since I last posted on my blog...it has been quite a month. As I write, snow plows are closing my driveway in with Ice and snow. Oh, how I despise winter. I say it every year..."I'm moving to a warmer climate". Hasn't happened yet, but I hope it does someday...can't stand this weather and it has just begun!

I really can't believe that is the Holiday season. It will have come and gone in 2 weeks. Craziness.

I've been addicted to Facebook lately...it has been so great to reconnect with old high school friends and friends/family who you never get to see because of distance or any other reason.

It is a great networking too as well, for anything and everything. I will hopefully be posting more after the New Year. I truly hope 2009 will bring great things personally, and career wise.

More to come...Hope you all have a Happy and Safe Holiday! The picture is a scanned pic of My Nana (who is 94) and still lives in Brooklyn, NY! Miss her and love this pic. We are in our PJ's and eating a snack before bedtime...circa 1982 maybe?

P.S. Just wanted to say hi to Melanie, Sarah and my other good friends and family who check out the blog every now and then. Leave a comment next time you visit! Join Facebook too!

11/15/08 Anniversary of our First Date!

I can't believe how time has flown by. I don't know how to describe it really. Kenny and I went on our first date, November 15, 1997! Oh my god...that date makes me laugh...it seems crazy! 11 years...and counting.

We went to see "The Devil's Advocate" with Keanu Reeves. I should have known then, that he was a movie buff...it continues till this day and will always. Which I love.

We then proceded to go to the G-MAN. It's a bar...The Gingerbread Man. For those of you who are Non-Penn Staters. We stood on line in freezing cold weather... and ended up closing the bar down at 2 a.m. Surprise?? Not so much. Still do it on occasion! We just don't recoup as fast these days!

I always daydreamed about the day I would look back on the times we shared...even if it was just a date to the movies. It brings me back to where we began...and how far we've come in our relationship. We didn't know what was in store for us...we just made a decision to experience life together and I wouldn't change it for anything. We are not perfect...we have our moments, arguments, name-calling incidents like every couple. But, we do not go to bed angry.

We may not have achieved or experienced everything that we wanted to at this point in our lives, but I do believe that we are more in love today, than we were on our wedding day. I thank God for that.

October 2008

Well, October went really fast, I feel like I didn't even enjoy Fall this year! Here's a shot of our Pumpkins this year. We went to the Pumpkin Patch in Macungie...it's so cute. We always go at the end of the month, and there's never a huge selection...but we did manage to find 2 keepers!

The big one looks like a Gourd!

Kenny is back in PA!

Kenny is finally back home in PA. He really enjoyed San Antonio, but was ready to come home. Living out of a hotel and eating out at restaurants for 3 weeks was a little much after the 2nd week started. The weather was great and he got to do a lot of sight-seeing at the Riverwalk and Alamo...jealous, yes I am.

He said he really wants to go back...so I will be making a trip back with him sometime in the near future! The cost of living is really low...For what we spent on our home, we could have gotten in San Antonio for $30,000 grand less. Crazy.

Ya never know...you may have to visit us in San Antonio next year...lol. We'll see if that comes to fruition. I'm not holding my breath.

Kenny got a good shot of the Crocket Hotel during his stay. No, he didn't stay there.

My poor Emma.

Well, it was bound to happen at some point. My neice Emma broke her hand on Thursday. I think she had been running (with a pencil in her hand) and fell. I guess it was bound to happen at some point, she's 7 going on...15 I think. She's such a sweet, sensitive, courteous, beautiful little girl. I miss Emma and her brothers, Caleb and Ethan dearly. They are the loves of my life, besides my husband of course and our future children.

It was her right hand as well, but my sister said they tried to cast her hand so she could attempt to hold a pencil...we'll see how that works out. It should be a fast recovery which is good.

My Emma...I love you and miss you tons.

Kenny is San Antonio bound!

Well, as I write this, Kenny is in Flight on his way to San Antonio, Texas until October 24th! It felt like he was leaving me forever! It was a weird feeling. We have been apart from eachother for a week or so, but never this long. I'm sure it will go fast, but It's such a pretty time of year, I would love to spend it with him.

I would also love to experience the Riverwalk in San Antonio, I've heard it's a great place with a lot of different things to do and some fabulous food! I'm soo jealous right now. Kenny will be working for the most part, but I was trying to plan a 3 day weekend to come visit and do the Riverwalk like I said. The flights are rather expensive right now. $600 from the Lehigh Valley Airport! I would so love to go...but I should be really saving that money. I never put my foot down and save like I always say I'm going to. I would really like to achieve a goal I set out for myself, but do I want to deprive myself of a really fun experience with the hubby??? Don't know what to do and I only have a week to figure this one out.

We'll see.
P.S. The picture is about 1yr old. Oldie but goodie.

Celtic Classic 2008

Every year Kenny and I attend the Celtic Classic in Bethlehem, PA. We love it. It's great food, great music and of course, Great Beer, Wine and any other beverage to your liking! We've been going for 7 years now and it's a tradition for us. There has only been one year where we had my sister, cousin and Ken's friend come along. All other years, it's been Ken and I. I love that we are making long lasting traditions that we hope to enjoy with our family, whenever children come into the picture.

We see some of the same people every year and know exactly what booths to go to when looking for our favorite vendors! Ken's goal this year was to get his "AU SHUCKS" corn on the cob, with spices and parmesean cheese, it's the bomb! As well as an O'haras pint. Not as good as Guinness, but close to it!

I just love walking around, shopping, listening to the great celtic bands which are so entertaining, and the whole vibe is just a good time! We look forward to it every year and never plan anything for the last weekend in September!!
P.S. The bagpiper picture is from a few years ago, I couldn't get a good one this year, we didn't have the greatest weather.

Flats or heels??

So, I have a new addiction. Ballet Flats and Flats in general. They are really coming back in style these days. They are so much more comfortable than wearing heels for 8hrs and I think their funky! So they may not be the sexiest shoe, but who wants to look sexy at 8-5 job? They are so much better for our feet too!

Not saying that I'm totally giving up on heels...I wear them...I do. But, I never seem to find the right size. They are either to tight up front, and too big in the back. Always something! I love the peep toe heel!

I'll post a picture of a new purchase soon...Red Funky Flats! Love them!

Exhausted!

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have been extremely exhausted! I really need to take my vitamins and take care of myself better.

I have been so worried about what is happening/not happening in my life right now that I don't take time for me. I also have to start making decisions for myself and not have a fear of what other people might think of that decision. I have to do what it right and what feels right for me.

I have a huge fear of the unknown...but I have to take a step in that direction, because I'm stressing myself out to no end. Yes, money helps pay the bills, but does it bring Happiness?

Anyway, I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend. I so hope the dress fits. I purchased in almost a year ago and I had to have gained a pound or 2 since then! I'll be sucking it in! lol.

Well, It's U.S. Open Tennis time! Kenny and I are big fans and have been to a few matches in Flushing Meadows, NY. It's a great time! We also love watching it on T.V. We have been known to stay up until 2.am to route for our favorites! We love those 5 setters that end in a tiebreak!
Celtic Fest in Bethlehem, PA is coming up at the end of September, so look out for that post!

I love my husband.

Well, when you are having a bad day, and you think the next thing that happens will put you over the edge, you have to think "someone else has it worse than I do".

I was so glad to be coming home from a very long day and week for that matter. I don't get to see Ken at all when he works nights...well, not counting our 3:00AM conversations when he's finally tired enough to come to bed. He made my day today!

I came home and went to check my cell. I had a voicemail. He said he just called to say "I love you"...on his way to work. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, I remember why I married this man.

Once again..."It's the little things in life". Common trend, don't ya think?

Flippin Out!

Does anyone watch this reality show on BRAVO! Well, tonight is the REUNION....but they will rerun the whole season, I'm sure. This Realtor/Flipper (Buys, renovates and sells Real Estate), has OCD, and is very anal and particular about EVERYTHING! It's Hilarious. Jenni is his right hand woman, and assistant. She is the spitting image of Julia Louis-Dreyfuss from Seinfeld. Did I say Hilarious...yes it is. Oh, and the Maid, Zoila. OMG. Like I say all the time...IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE!

More Puerto Rico Pics!

Here are a few pics from the Bacardi Factory, The Bat is the logo for Bacardi. It dates back to when Bacardi Rum was founded. They were in need of a logo, and had stepped into the Barrel room where they kept the Rum, and found Bats hiding away.
There is additional picture of a beach entrance at our hotel and a shot of a cemetery in Old San Juan...some more to come. I really wish we had more time at the beach...it's much needed!

Puerto Rico pics finally!

I have finally posted a few more Puerto Rico pics. We do wish we had more time to spend at the beach...but the shots came out great. We went to the Spanish Forts in Old San Juan and did a little shopping, well, I did a little shopping. I will post a few pics from the Bacardi Rum Factory next time. I'm off to watch Project Runway!!

No time!

Okay, so I haven't posted pictures from our Puerto Rico trip yet....sorry! I have been working, and by the time I get home, I just want to relax, take a nap etc. I don't really even get to do that b/c time goes by so fast. I feel like I'm not enjoying the summer either. Hopefully, by the end of this weekend, I will be able to spend some time to post the pics. I have been really thinking about what's important in life, and what things (material or otherwise) that "we" can get through our days without. In other words...trying to start saving as much as I can. It's definitely a struggle to forgo the "take out"' night, and coffe run or Coldstone run etc.

Did I really need that Coach wallet that I bought at the Coach Outlet in Puerto Rico?? No, but I wanted it...and it was $54, compared ot $220! Awesome deal! This is a problem I think a lot of us have, which is soooo hard to break! Well, anyway, here's a picture of the Coach outlet in Old San Juan!

Finally back in PA!

We are back from our Puerto Rico trip. I will post some pictures this week. Happy to be back in PA!

Been a while.

Yes, it has been a few weeks since I last updated the blog! Needless to say things have been crazy. With me trying to figure out my job situation and what I should do...to trying to think of things to pack for our trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico next week! I will most likely forget something, I always do, even though I check and recheck! We are ready to relax and drink a cocktail or two...by the beach. We've heard so much about the great restaurants there, so we're excited to go to Old San Juan, and try them out!! I think it will be a good time to try and think about things and what we really want to do in the coming year in relation to jobs, family, etc. We constantly think about changes we want to make or places we want to live but never act on it. We are afraid of the unknown, which is a valid concern.

I got my haircut and highlighted yesterday...the last time I got that done was in March so it was much needed. Here's a picture. I might put up a picture of where we stay in San Juan...so look out for that!

If I don't post next week...Have a Happy 4th of July! Enjoy!

June 12, 1976

Well, it is almost midnight. That means....HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Also, to my twin sister Anne of course! I love you! I wish we lived closer, and I could spend more time with you and my loves, Emma, Caleb and Ethan. I do wish I could have been there for you more when you were pregnant...maybe we can experience those things, when it's my turn...someday!
Yes, I know we look nothing a like. We are fraternal.

I can't believe how fast these past few years have gone...I feel like I haven't had time to enjoy life! It's very cliche, but true. You work, sleep, try to keep a clean household....try is the operative word. It's a never-ending cycle.

One exciting thing that has happened in the past month, is that I have started as a Contributor to a Celebrity baby blog. The website is http://www.celebritybabyscoop.com/, so check it out!! It is a great creative outlet for me, and I am loving every minute of the experience.

You can also join us on Facebook too! Just add us as a friend or join the group!

So, tomorrow I'm going to work...yes, all day. I'm then going to get some dinner and relax, by myself. (Ken is working...bummer!). Hopefully we will be able to celebrate at some point this weekend! I need me some margaritas baby!!

Feliz Cumpleanos a mi hermana! Quiero mucho.

May 24, 2003

This past Saturday May 24, 2008 was my 5 year Wedding Anniversary! It is so crazy how time flies. We have actually been together a total of 10yrs, and married for 5. We went to a new restaurant called Melt. It's located at the Saucon Valley Promenade, close to Bethlehem, PA. Dinner was Delish! It was so nice to relax and enjoy ourselves! We then went to see the new "Indiana Jones" movie at the Drive in. We love the Drive In. There are 2 here in the Lehigh Valley. Ken brought me to the Drive in (near PSU-which has now closed)when we first started dating...we saw Titanic there! It has become somewhat of a ritual on our anniversary. I love it.

On to the next 50 years!!

First T-ball game!

Well, last weekend we made a quick trip up to State College to see my niece and nephew play some ball! They don't play very many games so we were excited to be able to make it and glad the weather held out! They are just starting out and haven't quite got all the rules of how to play down yet, but it is hilarious! They were all so cute in there hats and shirts, and most of the time the helmets were 2 sizes to big for the little ones! Emma and Caleb hit the ball very well, which I was surprised to see at their ages of 7 and 5 1/2. It was so adorable to see them interact with their teammates and attempt to cheer on whoever was up at bat! Although it is hard for them to keep the attention span on the game at times. It was the first game that Nana and Grandpa also came to, so they were excited to see us and Uncle Kenny of course. Caleb's only concern was that Kenny was going to be able to play at his house after the game was over...love that. My youngest nephew Ethan, who is 2 was keeping Nana company on the sidelines. Some pictures of Game Day!

Recent Target purchase!

Well, we have been waiting to purchase patio furniture for almost 3 yrs now. We will be in our home 3 yrs at the end of July. Time flies!! We can never agree on what to get and end up missing out on good sales because of that so, we are doing the "mix" and match". We've just purchased 2 dark wicker chairs so far...they were a great deal at Target and we hope to get 2 additional chairs and a round table to complete the set. I hope we do this before summer is over! lol. I can't go another summer without being able to sit out on our deck and read Instyle Magazine cover to cover! Even if it's just for 15-20 mins...it seems to help me relax and enjoy myself! Above is a picture of the chairs!

Spring time!

The trees and flowers are blooming more now and that means spring and summer are coming! My favorite time of year. With that comes April Showers...but I thought the tree in front of our house looked so pretty today even though it was raining. Above is a photo of the tree!

Flyers game.

Well, I thought it was going to be a good night. Up until about 1/2 hr ago when the Flyers lost in OVERTIME. The Hubs is not a happy camper! Good thing there is more than one game to play...or that he'll have LOST to watch just in case they don't move on! The saga continues...

Lady Antebellum CD!

I just downloaded their debut CD off of Itunes for $6.99! I first heard of them from my sister Denise...the lead singer is Josh Kelley's brother Charlie! They are considered a country band at the moment. The cd is awesome!!!!! It's only available at that price for the next couple days...so get it while you can!

Fortune cookie.

Just a "little" note...My husband opened a fortune cookie last night and it said "There is beauty in simplicity". I absolutely love it! Simplicity is so my thing. In regards to design, clothes, art, photography, etc. You can start with the simplest thing, and add to it an accessory or something funky! That's what I do! I just love that quote. I think I might change the blog spot link to that. It is so hard to find a name that hasn't been taken! ugh!

My first attempt...

Hello, this is my very first blog ever! I spend so much time on so many other blogs that I love, I decided to start my own. This is new to me...but I hope the best is yet to come as I try to figure out this whole thing and change it up to make it my own! I hope to write about the things that I love in life...it is the "little" things in life that please me just so you know. I have great attention to detail...too much I think. I'm excited to start this and will become more accustom as the days go on! Ciao Mein. (as Jack would say on "Will and Grace). My absolute favorite TV show of all time!

***Right now, I have a craving for Dark Chocolate Ice Cream from Coldstone. Too bad they closed 2hrs ago! Damn.
